ABOUT ME

Troy Thomas is a music educator, percussionist, and PhD student in the Music Education program at the University of Florida. Prior to starting his doctoral studies, Troy received his master's degree through the University of Florida's online MMME program. Troy previously served as the Director of Bands and K-12 Music Teacher at Rochester Area School District in Rochester, Pennsylvania. During his tenure at Rochester, Troy's teaching responsibilities included directing the High School Marching and Concert Bands, Middle School Concert Band, and Elementary Band. Troy also created several new courses at Rochester, such as the High School Music Technology course, which featured innovative ways for both new and experienced music students to compose music using the district's new one-to-one student technology initiative.
